TUTORIAL VIDEOS

Under the VIDEO TUTORIALS tab there are videos on handbuilding and wheel thrown processes. These videos are intended to help supplement the instruction time in class.  Please use these when you have questions about a process, or want to improve your skill in a certain area.

STAGES OF CLAY

1. Slip - Watered down clay in a muddy form

2. Wet - Workable stage, can join pieces together

3. Leather Hard - Stiff; will hold its shape; still workable

4. Greenware - Bone dry; very fragile; ready to be fired

      1st Firing - Bisque Firing

5. Bisqueware - Fired once in the kiln; ready to be glazed

      Apply Glaze      

      2nd Firing - Glaze Firing

6. Glazeware - Fired a second time; final piece
